Rajasthan is an exemplary hub of marvellous art, and awe-inspiring architecture. It has hosted a slew of festivals showcasing aesthetics, literature. It has also conducted various skill development programmes for women, driven by the objective of women upliftment and empowerment. The state has been seen as an emerging hub of trade and commerce in handicrafts. Dedicated efforts to upscale it’s travel and tourism expansion have reaped great results. But this state never stops.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, yesterday presented a whopping Rs.1,66,000-crore Budget of Rajasthan 2017-18 in the State Assembly. A battery of measures and financial allocations for infrastructure development, transport, agriculture, higher education and water resources.

No new tax has been introduced in the Rajasthan Budget 2017-18, thereby lessening the burden of paying multi layers of tax at various points. This will also ensure that the state dwellers are not subjected to the cascading effect of tax. Nonetheless, a 15% hike in almost all tobacco products will be seen. This step has been taken to curb the menace of growing inclination towards using tobacco products, especially among the youths.

Ms. Raje, who also holds the Finance portfolio pronounced a calculated 2017 Rajasthan Budget without making any indecorous or unattainable promises. Past has been a testimony that Raje manifests her vision and accomplishes her dream.

“The State had achieved a myriad of awards and recognitions and bagged many laurels during the last three years,” said Raje who was beaming with pride.  Well, rightfully so. When hard-work pays off it engenders a feeling.

In Raje’s 2017-18 Rajasthan Budget speech, which aimed at alleviation of masses worries, she gave huge impetus to interest of farmers, support to emerging entrepreneurs and small-scale businessmen.

Raje yet again proved that she is a people’s person. She encompassed all areas and multitude of sectors, thereby making it a holistic budget.

The Rajasthan Budget 2017 projected an estimated fiscal deficit at Rs 24,753 crore, which is 2.99% of the GSDP and the estimated total revenue receipt for the financial year at Rs 1,30,162 crore. The estimated own tax revenue for 2017-18 was 8.34% of GSDP.
