The Government of Rajasthan has prepared to provide jobs to the dependents of martyrs before 1971. According to the scheme, dependents of martyrs after August 15, 1947, to December 31, 1970, will be given government jobs. The Government of Rajasthan has been already providing government employment to the dependents of martyr form 1971 to 1999 under ‘Kargil Package’ but before 1971, many conflicts and war were fought by the Indian Army and hundreds of martyrs from the state were recorded in the span.

According to the current service rule for ‘Kargil Package’, wife, daughter or the son of the martyr are eligible to get a government job. Petrol pumps and land also serve as consolation for martyr families who come under the ‘Kargil Package’.

People of the state have been demanding this provision for a long time but they were not being heard by former government. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s Government is all set to announce and apply this provision, soon.

Who will be benefited by the provision?

The dependents of martyrs before 1971 might have exceeded the general eligibility age for government jobs, so the government has decided to push the limit. Provision has a clause of ‘blood relation’ which means, the son of the son is also eligible for the government job under the scheme.

Approximately 1000 martyr families in the state will be benefited with the new scheme by Vasundhara Raje Government. CM Raje recently announced- 5% reservation for soldier families in government jobs, during her Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra in Jaisalmer last week.
