Kids are our future and the future needs strong foundation form present. Keeping it in focus, government of Rajasthan recently launched ‘Annapurna milk scheme’ as an addition to mid-day meals in the school. Government has been actively working on people’s welfare under Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s visionary. Proper nutrition and essential diet are the right to everyone. First time in Rajasthan ‘Annapurna Milk scheme’ aims to provide the milk nutrition to kids.

What makes the scheme special?

Milk majorly contains calcium, protein and vitamin D, which help in building bone, maintaining bone density and strengthening of muscles. Minerals like potassium, phosphorus, vitamin B-12, vitamin A and niacin to boost immunity and improve overall health. A glass of this white elixir for our future is a must.

  • When mid-day meal is already providing basic nutrition for kids in all the government schools, a glass of milk also added to feed them with essential minerals.
  • A glass of milk for three days in every week for 1 to 8 class students in government schools and madarsa.
  • Class 1 to 5 standard’s kids are being given 150 grams for milk and from class 6 to 8 children are getting 200 grams of milk.

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday of every week are fixed for milk distribution in urban area schools.
  • For rural area- Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday are preferred.
  • Around 62 Lac children from total 66,506 government schools and madarasa are getting this free of cost nourishment privilege.

An earning opportunity for women

In addition to that an earning opportunity is also emerged for the diary producers. Mostly females who are registered diary producers and other registered co-operative limited are benefitted trough the ‘Annapurna Milk Scheme’. Government pays them a generous payment for milk. Rajasthan’s diary Saras provides milk to the urban areas as well.

Quality of milk is tested on regular basis to ensure proper nutrition. All these processes and points are making CM Raje’s ‘Annapurna Milk Scheme’ an enormous success like Annapurna Kitchen and Annapurna Store Schemes.
