The rural developmental department will now allow the third parties to construct home for poor under Mukhyamantri Gramin BPL Awas Yojana. From now onwards, the beneficiaries of the scheme will be able to get the work completed from third party. Previously, the owners had the rights to build homes up to a period of 90 days. But, the recent surveys say that over one lakh homes are pending as the beneficiaries are not physically able to conduct the task. The payment to these beneficiaries were dispatched from the repository of MGNREGA.
This pending task of construction of more than 1 lakh homes will be completed with the contribution of third party constructors. This will come as a sigh of relief for the handicapped and old construction workers.

An official mentioned that, “Persons who are 60 years and above, physically challenged and not able to work or monitor the construction work can give it in writing and the construction of their homes will be given to an authorized agency”.
He further added, “The payment in such cases will not go to the accounts of beneficiaries but will be instead transferred to panchayat samitis”.
Sudarshan Sethi, the additional chief secretary rolled out the letter to zila parishad CEOs. This is to support the target of completing maximum home constructions before March of 2017.

Shelter for poor is the foremost vision of the state government. Allowing the third parties to construct homes for poor is one fast step towards the developed infrastructure of the state.
With Mukhyamantri Gramin BPL Awas Yojana, BPL families have got the huge relief as they can get their own safe shelter without any earning source. To expedite the procedure of implementation of this housing scheme, this new norm of inclusion of third parties came into light. This is a pioneer step by the state government to make poor realise their dreams.
