Shehari Jan Kalyaan Camps in Rajasthan

The Rajasthan government has received a nod to start the much-awaited Shehari Jan Kalyaan Shivir. The urban development and housing (UDH) minister Srichand Kriplani showed a green flag for the Kalyan Shivirs in the state.

In a meeting on Thursday, the state government’s proposal of conducting Shehari Jan Kalyaan Shivir was accepted in a meeting on Thursday.

To ensure that the shivirs are effectively managed, heads and chairpersons of the local bodies will meet before May 10, the day on which shivirs will commence.

The department will organise one-day workshop for heads and chairpersons of the local bodies. At the meeting, responsibilities will be allotted and everybody will be apprised of their jobs. The UDH department will issue a notification in nexus with the relaxations that will be provided during camps, a source privy to the development informed.

“The Congress government organised Prashasan Shehron Ke Sang for a limited time, due to which many plot owners were not able to procure lease deeds. This time, the department has decided not to have any fixed duration,” said an official.

If sources are to be believed, colonies developed on agricultural land before June 17, 1999 will be regularized. However, only those colonies where more than 75% construction work has been done will be considered for regularisation.

Additionally, plots on or above 20 feet roads will also be regularised. The department has introduced another reservation in this regard. Plots purchased with unregistered documents in these colonies before December 31, 2015 will be regularised at normal rates. On the other hand, people who bought plots after December 31, 2015 will have to pay double charges.

An undeclared duration of the shivirs facilitates seamless and ensured procurement of lease-deeds by desirous plot owners.

Not only this, rebates to lease money and urban development (UD) tax depositors.

will also be provided at the camps. These rebates will be funded by the government.
