Shivam, who is son of Mr. Rajendra, was born in Chanda village of Itawa, Kota. The destiny had something else for him and suffered with Congenital Heart Disease from the time of his birth. Shivam’s parents are not very fortunate in terms of finances and couldn’t afford the expenses of the treatment. Despite of this, they took him to many hospitals and doctors suggested the heart surgery for his well being. Because of lack of finances and complete information, his parents could not get the surgery done. Resultantly, Shivam was suffering a lot from the disease and was living a life of impairment and helplessness. He could not play and often faced difficulties in respiration.
On February 2nd, 2016, the team of Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) reached at Chanda village and that was a boon for Shivam. The team was there for the health check-up of children and during that procedure only, Shivam’s disease was detected. He was immediately referred to MBS (Maharao Bhim Singh Hospital), Kota for further treatment.
He was taken to MBS hospital of Kota where he underwent all necessary treatments. But, the hospital is not fully equipped with the purpose of heart operation. Thus, after checking all possibilities, he was referred to Narayana Multispecialty Hospital, Jaipur. After reaching there, he was thoroughly checked with all the tests and then it was confirmed that, he needs immediate assistance. On February 13th, 2016, Dr. Ankit Mathur conducted the heart operation of Shivam. The operation was a successful conduct and today Shivam is a healthy child. His parents are more than happy as their only child survived a deadly disease because of state government’s peerless scheme. Shivam is living a totally normal life after the operation. RBSK gave new life and possibilities to Shivam so that he can reside in the beautiful colours of life.
