As Rajasthan is on a roller-coaster of achieving immense successes, the state is also transforming lives of women dwellers. With a plethora of movements and campaigns initiated by the Government Bhamashah, Shubh Lakshmi, Ashray among many more, to enhance the life and status of women. These schemes have been seriously implemented in the state and real outcomes have been recorded so far.
According to the recent National Family Health Survey 4 (NFHS-4), the percentage of child marriages has gone down significantly over the last 10 years.
While anaemia among women has taken a dip, more women have knowledge of HIV AIDS and participate in household decisions. Significantly, there has been a decline in spousal violence cases and a rise in women having bank accounts.
Over the past 10 years, the percentage of women participating in household decisions has risen from 65.1% in 2005-06 to 81.7% in 2015-16. The percentage of women encountering violence at home from in-laws/spouse has seen a huge dip too.
NFHS-4 survey spells out this category has dipped from 46.3% to 25.1%. Child marriage rates have plummeted remarkably. In 2005- 06, 65.2% of women in the 2024 year age-group had got married before 18 years. The percentage of such women has reduced to 35.4% in 201516, signalling a decline of 29.8%.
Vasundhara Raje, being a woman herself. Who could understand the plight of women better than her? She is not only encouraging but also action-oriented. She is a promise maker who tunes her actions diligently to manifest her promises, in the true sense of the word.
Being a far-sighted visionary that she is, the state minister has taken all steps to ameliorate the living of the women residing in the state. Women feel comfortable in and around the state, post myriad of efforts put in by the Government. Women centric campaigns and movements seems to be the top-priority of the Raje-government. Indeed, so! When luck favours the brave, who is to stop?
