Rajasthan Royals to launch Cancer awareness campaign in Rajasthan

    It is not just on-ground matters. Their performance off-ground will also be applauded. It is IPL team Rajasthan Royals which has come up with wonderful initiative. This initiative will leave a remarkable impact on others. Rajasthan Royals have tied up with various medical units of Rajasthan for spreading awareness towards early detection of cancer.

    Present situation of Cancer in state

    As the no. of cancer patients are increasing every year in state so this step of the team will help in creating awareness about the disease. More than 1 lac cancer patients are adding every year. Almost 25% of the patients are not aware of cancer and its symptoms. Many are found at the last stage. If cancer is detected early, then such number of patients will also be reduced.

    Rajasthan Royals ’Cancer Out Campaign’

    There is a statewide ‘Cancer Out’ campaign will be launched to promote the early screening of cancer. Rajasthan Royals, in association with Tata Trusts will launch this campaign. The other organizations supporting the campaign are Rajasthan state government, National Cancer Grid, Indian Cancer Society and Indian Dental Association in the north-western India state.

    Royals team to play in special jersey

    For this, match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals will be played on 11th may at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. It will be called a ‘Cancer Out Match’. Team Royals will be seen sporting special jerseys to make people aware about cancer and urge them to join the campaign. It will also be broadcast live on Star Sports Network.

    During the match, one stand will be fully dedicated to cancer patients and their families. In the stadium, 15 thousand Flags will be distributed to the public to bring awareness about this campaign.

    Preparations for spreading awareness

    In fact, the screening camps will be held for oral, cervical and breast cancer at various locations in Rajasthan.  This initiative aims at creating awareness about this disease in youth. The efforts will be done by Tata Trusts to empower doctors, medical staff, community health workers and partner NGOs for encouraging early screening and treatment.
