    The strike by employees of Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) andJaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) has finally come to an end.     This strike has put the life to still as the passengers were suffering due to non-operation of almost 4800 buses. These buses carry almost 10 lac passengers every day.     The strike was called out as there are certain demands of RSRTC and other unions. They demanded procurement of new buses, filling of 9000 posts, implementation of 7th pay commission for employees, repairing of tickets dispensing machines in buses, benefits to be given to retired employees as well as parking of private buses and lok parivahan should not be allowed within 5 km of bus stands. Rajasthan Roadways strike

    The strike is ended on Friday night i.e. 27th July. After the several rounds of meetings between transport minister Yunus Khan, roadways officials and union members was held at Transport Bhawan, Rajasthan government and roadways unions reached to an agreement.

    Rajasthan government assured the unions for giving the benefits of 7th pay commission, make payment of retirement dues of employees and for filling the vacant positions in RSRTC a committee will be formed. Along with this, the minister assured the striking union members that the old buses will be replaced in a phased manner.

    Benefits of Rajasthan Roadways strike to Private Bus operators 

    Undoubtedly, the strike of roadways created thousands of commuters to face issues. The private bus operators charged excess fares and harassed the passengers. Whatever the revenue earned by private buses had been increased immensely as roadways buses are not on roads. In fact, the Lok parivahan buses were in profit too as commuters have been left with no choice but to travel on them.

    Although the strike was called out for 48-hours, it extended to one more day and ended on Friday. RSRTC and other unions said that they continued the strike as they were not satisfied with the talks with the CMD of RSRTC.
