As a part of pilot project, this is expected to be placed at the one-way roads in the Jaipur Commissionerate. For this, the Police Headquarters has prepared a proposal and sent it to the Home Department. After approval from the Home Department, the process of buying a road blade will be started.

What is Traffic Spikes Barrier?

Spikes Barrier

In Traffic Spikes Barrier, there are road blades so they will puncture the tyres of vehicle. It will be placed in one-way so that any vehicle coming from the wrong direction during will be punctured. For this purpose, four meter wide Pointed spikes barrier will be mounted on one-way roads.

How will it work?

The vehicles coming from the right direction on the one-way route will not get punctured. It is because while crossing the spikes, road blades will automatically get down. But, if the vehicle is coming from the wrong direction then road blades will enter the tyre and puncture it.

Save lives of people

This system will also prevent the road accidents. As per the data of last four years, 10000 people lost their lives in car accidents. In fact, approximately 150 to 170 people die every year while driving in the wrong direction. Jaipur Commissionerate, 25 people die each year in such accidents due to speedy drive of car drivers in wrong direction.

Initially, this is being started as pilot project. It is important to check its applicability before the final installation. If the results of this system are favourable then it will be installed in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, Bikaner and Ajmer.
