CM Vasundhara Raje requested local municipal bodies to keep the city clean smart and green. She remarked that, people from other states are moving into Rajasthan and considering it as a dwelling place for the good quality of life. They find peaceful and affordable life here.
CM Raje, “As one first arrives at any place, the first impression he gets on his mind is by the cleanliness around, seeing no animals on roads, supported by strong infrastructure. The local bodies should specially ensure that the entrances of towns and cities are attractive so that impressions on the visitors mind are too strong to compel them to come back here again and again”.
While addressing the inaugural session and 2nd workshop of state level ‘Clean and Smart Rajasthan’, CM Raje asked the urban local bodies to follow Swachh Bharat Mission. In addition, she praised Udaipur for keeping the city clean and for adopting the innovative ways like roof top harvesting, city ride with autorikshaw, LED street lights, mineral water dispensers at public places. CM Raje urged chairman and collectors of other municipal bodies to introduce these models in their areas also.
She emphasised more on adopting innovative technology and different thinking and urged that this may help Rajasthan greatly in emerging as a major urban state.
She promptly requested local municipal bodies and organizers to set high standards for greenery, cleanliness, polythene and fine quality roads etc. During the early hours of schedule, CM Raje inaugurated the LED street light system and Annapurna Rasoi Yojna which is a recent addition into Raje schemes. Not only this, she also honoured Municipal bodies, individuals, NGOs and district administration with “Swachh Rajasthan Award” for their diligent contribution.
Apart from that, V Suresh (Chairman of good Governance India Foundation) mentioned that, ” While Rajasthan has already got four smart cities in making, the state government is leaving no stones unturned to make tier-1 and 2 cities too smart and clean”.
