Kothari has penned an ultimatum for the Chief Minister 'Jab tak Taala, Tab tak Kaala'.

Who has given media the right to decide the content of broadcasting as per their will and discretion? Recently, daily paper Rajasthan Patrika editor-in-chief Gulab Kothari announced its decision to boycott Vasundhara Raje from its paper due to the ongoing tussle for the Rajasthan Ordinance bill. The newspaper has taken a stand against the state’s new ordinance bill. The new Ordinance bill pertains to limiting media allegations on former judges, magistrates and public servants in Rajasthan – without prior sanction from the government.

Kothari is critical about the bill gave that it is deterrent for them to allege anybody and everybody. The media has joined hands with the school of assumptions and drama, wherein respected persons, retired officers are shown in bad light.

Needless to say, the public believes what the media says as they believe media is fool-proof and publishes legitimate information. False accusations build a negative image of the person concerned and break his confidence and morality.

The whole idea of alleging anybody should be driven by factful claims and evidence supported accusations. Mere publishing of information and filling pages is a cake walk, the real struggle is to write the truth, speak the truth.

What’s more to note? Those helming the Rajasthan Patrika never objected the likes of Ordinance bill, nor raised voice against the various allegations of Congress. Like a clap needs two hands, there is perhaps a hidden motive behind Rajasthan Patrika uproar against the bill. Clearly, the Rich Opposition can afford any amounts.

The media was never bestowed with the right to malign a celebrated person with unverified allegations – a practice used often to harness mass attention and footage to their media house. Well, these hacks will bring them money but lessen their integrity quotient in the times to come. The digressing lines on Patrika’s chart starting from providing media services to now indulging in political gimmicks may cost Rajasthan Patrika dearly if they don’t give up on their poor decisions.
