Rajasthan state has a lot to offer for the tourists. It has mesmerizing forts and palaces, amazing culture, delicious cuisine and unforgettable hospitality. The state has also national parks and sanctuaries to enthrall the wildlife lovers.
Tourists come every year to enjoy the state’s wildlife. But, for three months from July to September, these national parks and sanctuaries remained closed. But, the tourism is going to get boost now as these animal and bird habitats are going to be opened for the tourist activities from October 1 onwards. Know more.
Reason for close of forest area
In the rains, the situation in the forest area does not remain favourable for the tourist and for any tourist activities. The forest tracks get damaged and the water rolls down from hills overflowing nullahs. The situation get so worse that many parts of the forest reserve get cut off from the main areas.

Apart from these, heavy showers and strong winds cause severe damage to trees and the parks become a dangerous area for human movement. During the rainy season, the herbivorous animals shift their shelter to hilly areas. Thus by, their sighting decreases for tourists.
With the onset of monsoon, the authorities keep the parks closed. Following the norms, no tourist activity is being held at parks and sanctuaries for the three months of monsoon in the state. In fact, this time duration is used by forest department for repairing the roads and tracks in the areas so that tourism activities can be carried out without any hindrance.
Forest department also make the tracks cleared off trees and other bits that might have fallen due to rains. It is important that tourists must visit these wildlife sanctuaries without any risk.
