To make the youth of Rajasthan financially self dependent and empower them with new skills, ten new skill development centres for youths to be established in the state. These centres for youth will be established under the State engagement programmes of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. With an aim to train more than 64,500 youths in four years, the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has approved Rs. 94.63 crore to Rajasthan. In fact, the Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation has been given 14.19 crore for developing these centre.

What is it important to establish such training centres?

It is known that youth need good skills training programmes for progressing in their lives. It is the flaw in the education system that this important area has been ignored. Talking about the scenario of schools in rural village, there is no focus on communication skills. As even the industrial houses demand a technically qualified and well-versed labour so efforts should be made on their communication skill.

What are the other plans of the government?

Apart from these ten skill development centre, there are plans to bring to seven centres under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushal Yojana by the next financial year. For industry-specific skill training programmes, Rajasthan government has already collaborated with various industries to set up the advanced laboratories in ITIs.

It is expected that these centres will raise the standards of training modules and make the students more efficient. This will give better insight to candidates about the practical aspects of the work.
