Through powerful digital schemes like Bhamashah, Rajasthan Sampark portal and e-mitra centers, Rajasthan has pioneered an integrated IT network for transparency, efficiency and broader outreach of government-run policies. Co-incidentally, Rajasthan is the only state to observe IT Day on March 21 every year. On this occasion, Mr. Akhil Arora, principal secretary of IT, spoke about government objectives regarding youth, startups and entrepreneurship.

According to Mr. Arora, the government seeks to boost the happiness index of Rajasthan natives through effectively, paper-less and hassle-free delivery of services. This year, the government is aiming at developing a robust IT ecosystem for sharing of innovative ideas. The idea is to create user-friendly interfaces for effective delivery of services across the nation.

What does Government Plan for the Coming Years

  • 40,000 e-mitra kiosks in Rajasthan

In last 3 years, Rajasthan has seen about 40,000 e-mitra kiosks that deliver up to 270 services across the state. Compared to the national statistics, Rajasthan, with 25% of the total kiosks in the country is far ahead than five states put together.

  • Concrete Digital Ecosystem

Meanwhile, the government has built up a robust Bhamashah database for direct delivery of benefits to beneficiaries.

  • Rajasthan Sampark Portal for Complaints

Rajasthan government owns an online system for quick grievance redressal. On this website, the users can file complaints, track its status and access solutions via web browsers and mobile apps.

Talking about future goals, the government aims at standardizing all services with all key sectors like infrastructure, governance and departmental proceedings covered under intra-connected network.

For this ambitious e-governance project, the authorities are planning to train the youth for directing workflow, wherein they’ll invite the startups, youths and people to come together in this project.

The 600 youths participating in Rajasthan IT Day were given cash prizes in various competitions. Concurrently, the government has launched a ‘young intern program’ to rope in 200 youths. The authorities believe this will encourage the youngsters to come forth with fresh ideas.
