Rajasthan government launched the Bhamashah Yojana for a galaxy of objectives. Firstly, it was targeted to bolster and empower the women. The card enabled a woman of the house to wear the pants. Secondly, to mitigate the menace of female foeticide in the state. Thirdly, to directly transfer benefits to the beneficiary in their respective bank accounts, thereby encouraging cashless transactions in the state.

The Bhamashah scheme was majorly advanced to counter corruption practices. Heavy government-led efforts in nexus with promoting cashless transactions have reaped substantial benefits. The outcome of the drive has been incredibly positive and fruitful for one and all covered in it’s ambit.

It is indeed the first-of-its-kind scheme. It is the first scheme launched in the country which was solely directed towards empowering women. Indeed, a game changer for all women entitled to the scheme benefits.

On Saturday, Vasundhara Raje addressed the media persons in Delhi after taking part in BJP’s national executive committee meeting. She said that they started Bhamashah scheme for encouraging cashless economy.

As per the scheme, a woman is the head of the family and a bank account can only be opened in her name. The government has deposited Rs 2,000 in each of their accounts as incentives. The scheme is also linked to Bhamashah Health Insurance Scheme (BHIS). Under BHIS, a patient of a BPL family can receive free cashless treatment of Rs 30,000 which can go up to Rs 3 lakh.

For the Bhamashah Yojana, incentives and cash benefits are directly transferred into the account of beneficiaries. There is absolutely no cash transaction involved in the scheme. Till date, 14.64 crore transactions have been made to transfer Rs 5,251 crore directly into the accounts of beneficiaries. Quite impressive, indeed!

An informative presentation was also made on the Bhamashah scheme at the meeting.

The Bhamashah insurance scheme has completed one year in the state. Till December, 7.4 lakh claims of Rs 351 crore have already been settled. So far, 6.72 lakh patients have been treated under the cashless scheme.

This scheme is touching lives of the remotest people in the country. A plethora of campaigns and efforts have been and will be directed to raise awareness about the scheme, so that every nook and corner is abreast of the scheme and the numerous benefits it renders. The government is fast-tracking it’s strategies and enhancing it’s reach mechanisms to ensure that not a soul is deprived of any benefits, which arise from the virtue of this scheme.
