Annapurna Rasoi Yojana

Rajasthan govt.’s nodal food providing scheme, Annapurna Rasoi is facing a downfall because of repeated menu and similar taste in dishes. The urban-poor scheme for urban workers, students and officer goers has not revealed the much sought after results.

To deal with the catastrophe, the state govt. expended the reach to other cities making it from 12 to 190 cities. Although, the state govt. has tried its best to maintain the required standards of taste, still people have not found it satisfying. May be the exceptionally, low prices are acting as a taboo here.

The Annapurna Rasoi Staff is trained in hospitality but facing a humongous issue of one time visitors. Many people come for once, eat the food and do not visit again. Probably, the habit of finding slightest cons won here. On top of this, they take a target of 100 plates including breakfast, lunch and dinner. At many locations in the city, they find it hard to reach to the bars.

Despite of receiving criticism and skepticism from people, Annapurna Rasoi is serving a large section of students in the city. Although workers from the poor section have not developed taste and faith for Annapurna Rasoi, students are relied upon govt.’s vision of providing  economic food.

An incident of finding wire in the food acted as fuel in the fire for Annapurna Rasoi Yojana. People’s cynicism grew bigger when there was wire found in the food and they talked of not risking their life for cheap food.

Nepal Chaudhary, who is deployed at Annapurna Rasoi van in Gopalpura, said, “Who would want to risk life for cheap food? Several incidents of wire in food have been reported. The issue has been brought to the notice of our seniors, but it was ignored”.

He then talked about writing a letter to the CM, saying, “I also wrote a letter to the chief minister mentioning about the anomalies in the project few days back as it’s sad that purpose of project is not solved yet.”

At one place, where students are believing on Annapurna Rasoi plan and relying on it for better, the poor are hard to deal with.

They say, “Change in the monetary plans is still easy, but change in the mindset may take generations”.
