Although Rajasthan is touching the heights of technological advancement with the involvement of many neighbouring countries, a revolution in the intrinsic mindset is yet to discover.

In many aspects, we strive to compete with states like Tamil Nadu we have overlooked their modern trends. There, a 25 year old transgender is holding the chairs as sub-inspector in police, but, here similar aspirant who got selected under good grade conditions is not able to get the posting even after two years.

This is nothing but an apparent case of discrimination, because despite of clearing all written and physical examinations of recruitment as a police constable, he is waiting for the posting.

Also, it’s not that, she didn’t make any further efforts. The candidate named Ganga Kumari, even had meetings with director general of police and pleaded to give her the posting but nothing substantial happened.

Getting rejections from everywhere, she went on to court for her justice. Ganga Kumari said, “Everyone has a right to live and every citizen of India has equal rights. No one can be denied a job in the government. Being a transgender is not a crime. I have filed a writ in the high court, Jodhpur division”.

From 2015, it’s been 2 years to kumari’s fights and said, “Recruitment for constable post in police department was conducted in 2013. I passed the written and physical test. My name was placed at 148th in the list. The physical test was conducted in 2015. A medical test was also conducted. In the same year, result was declared. I was selected for the post of constable. But, in medical test, I was declared a transgender. Now, even though I have passed and cleared all phases of selection, I have not been given posting”.

Out of the 208 candidates, 207 have already got the posting.
