Military Helicopters Deployed To Deal with Mammoth Forest Fire

    Mammoth Forest Fire Helicopter

    Rajasthan is heating up in the early summer season and the raging fire in the forest said a lot about it. On Saturday, the military helicopters came for help in Rajasthan to yield a helping hand in the raging forest fire.

    The Sirohi district near Mount Abu caught fire on Friday and it got stretched till 494 km southwest of Jaipur, which is capital city of Rajasthan.

    Abhimanyu Kumarm,  a senior local government official mentioned to Xinhua over callfrom Sirohi, “We have stepped up our efforts and sought additional help from Indian air force, whose choppers are carrying out regular sorties to douse the ranging flames”. He added, “We hope by the evening we will be able to contain the situation to a large extent.”

    Kumar mentioned of no life loss and or injury in the forest fire. Fortunately, the area which was affected by this did not have any life running in it.

    Reports have mentioned that the fire has spread around so many extra kilometers.

    The nearby hill station of Rajasthan, Mount Abu which usually offers a cool environment in summers. Many people have rushed to the area including tourists from all around the country.

    Till now, tourist activities have not been affected in the area. Locals mentioned that, the area is having helicopters hovering over it with bambi-bucket to carry out the rescue operation. These bambi-buckets are full of water at the mid of Mount Abu.

    Kumar also mentioned, “Apart from helicopter with bambi buckets, our men from the forest department are also putting in manual efforts to prevent fire from spreading close to inhabited areas”.

    The helicopters from neighbor state of Gujarat have been deployed to service when the local government requested them to do so.

    The fire cause was also found out. Previous year, a large scale forest fire caused the death of seven people in Uttarakahnd and caused damage of the forests in the state.
