Gargi Awards : Education is one of the biggest mediums to bring change in the society. An educated person not only changes his life but also motivates other to lead a meaningful life too. Hence, education is important factor to make the nation and world prosper. Especially, women education should be the priority of every state and nation.

An educated woman can be compared to a blessing that flourishes the life. Well… the state of Rajasthan has well understood this philosophy and implemented in its policies. The government has several policies, programs and awards that boost and promote the girls’ education of Rajasthan. In order to promote girls’ education in Rajasthan has initiated Gargi awards.
What are Gargi Awards?
The government of Rajasthan distributes the Gargi Awards to the meritorious girl students. The award is given to the girls of Secondary and Senior Secondary who score 75 per cent or more marks in their board examinations. Basically, an amount of ₹ 1500 is given to meritorious girls of class 10th and ₹ 2500 to the girls of class 12th. These girls are given certificates also. The award money is given in two years.
Every year, the award distribution ceremony is held on the occasion of Basant Panchmi. It is given to students of both private and government schools of Rajasthan. Every year, the number of meritorious girls is increasing.
Procedure to get Gargi awards
The award is given by Balika Shiksha Foundation. To distribute the Gargi awards, the district education centre issues the list of the centre where awards are being distributed. List of centres for distribution of both Secondary and Senior Secondary girls’ students are issued every year. To receive Gargi awards, girls must carry their information letter and certificates of their respective classes.
