Every year, lacs of candidates apply for administrative exams in Rajasthan. They study hard to get through the exam and get their desired posts. For this, Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) conducts exams. Well… just like every other exam, there is also syllabus for qualifying various exams conducted by RPSC. RPSC revised the syllabus by making changes. Know more in detail.

Changes made in syllabus by RPSC

RPSC has made changes in the curriculum. A new chapter ‘Administrative Ethics’ has been added in the syllabus. This chapter has to be studied candidates fighting for Administrative Ethics for Rajasthan Administrative Service, Rajasthan Excise Service, Rajasthan Police Service, Sales Tax Service for other state level services.

What has been added in Administrative Ethics?

Under this new chapter, the candidates will have to read scriptures of Mahabharata and Yoga to get administrative jobs. Facts related to Hinduism and life of Mahatma Gandhi are also added in this course. The chapter comprises dialogue between Sri Krishna and Arjun before the war, the teachings of Sri Krishna and Sri Krishna’s important teachings etc.  In this, various yoga asanas have also been added.

What are the other subjects in the syllabus?

For the state administrative service, scheduled to be held in July, many subjects are covered. Like history, culture and art of Rajasthan, Indian history, history of modern world, sociology, history of modern world, economy of Rajasthan and India as well as questions related to political system of state and country.

Dispute over new syllabus

To prepare a new course, the new chairman of the Board, B.L. Zatawat, has constituted a committee of three people unofficially. There are chapters involving Shyamas Prasad Mukherjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay and Hindutva in Rajasthan’s school education curriculum. There is already controversy over this curriculum. Now, with the change in syllabus of administrative services, more tiffs have been surfaced. Many people have raised their voices against the change in curriculum. On this, the President of Rajasthan Public Service Commission, Dr.Radhaysyam Garg has said that this time, ethics has been included in the curriculum along with yoga and sports. He appreciated this new decision and called it beneficial in increasing knowledge.
