Who would have thought that even local Jaipur parks will be equipped with Gyms? Well, no time to think, the Rajasthan government is gearing up to make it a reality.
For all the fitness freaks dwelling in Jaipur, your ‘Acche Din’ are here. The Rajasthan government already halfway to launch such gyms in city parks.
Jaipur Municipal Corporation(JMC) has decided to set up open gyms in its parks, similar to those set up by Jaipur Development Authority(JDA).
Impressively, an optimum budget of Rs 8 crore has been allocated for this development.
Now, Jaipur’s parks in all 91 wards will have a gym where all fitness freaks can exercise their heart out. This will also ensure that the state youth is healthy and fit.
The JMC will soon invite tenders for construction of these gyms. Sources closely involved in the development said that gym machines will be set up in a phased manner.
JMC officials informed that 873 small and big parks under JMC’s jurisdiction. “Initially, gyms will be installed in big parks. We have started an exercise to identify these parks. As per initial figures, these gyms will be set up in 200 parks,” informed the JMC official.
JMC is planning to launch 20 more city parks around the city. Ramniwas Bagh is likely to be the next spot where JMC will initiate Gym construction.
“Presently, we would only set up gym at Ramniwas Bagh. There is no plan to extend the facility due to storage of funds,” said a JDA official source.
JDA has already installed 12 equipments at Central Park. A total of Rs 15 lakh was spent for this purpose. This decision has been appreciated by all city residents.
“It’s not possible for everyone to visit Central Park. It would be beneficial for residents of all colonies. I appreciate JMC’s plan to provide gym facility to masses,” said Rajveer Singh, a Vaishali Nagar dweller.
