Vijay Mallya booed with ‘Chor, Chor’ chants at the Oval Arena

Absconded businessman Vijay Mallya was booed by a group of Indian supporters at the Oval arena on Sunday, where he had come to watch India’s ICC Champions Trophy encounter against South Africa.

At the entrance, Mallya faced verbal slander at the entrance of the famous Sir Jack Hobbs Gate, where a group of Indians started shouting ‘Chor, Chor’, amidst the enveloping sounds.

Mallya was sporting a blue blazer with a black trouser as he entered the Hobbs Gate where an Indian shot a video of the escapee while another Indian shouted: “Woh Dekho chor jaa raha hain andar, Chor chor”.

Mallya was subjected to in public defamation, which sure must have left the former billionaire shatter to bits.  Mallya turned back once before walking to the Hospitality Box where he was sitting like a king in a nonchalant mode. He reacted in an unaffected manner and walked inside.

Mallya has unpaid debts of about Rs 9000 crore, the incompetency to pay which caused the UB Chief to fleet away to a foreign land overnight.

This whopping amount of debt has been a result of multiple debts taken from various Indian banks. The Indian government has been yearning for Mallya’s extradition.

Mallya had recently brought great shame onto the Indian team at the Virat Kohli Foundation’s ‘Charity Dinner’ event in the United Kingdom. The Indian team soon left the event after Mallya entered the venue. Sources say that the team left early to avoid any direct confrontation with the fugitive businessman.

Mallya was invited as a guest by someone who had bought a table at the charity event. Mallya entered the venue with a lady companion who was wearing a floor touching orange gown. Sources say that the companion was a middle-aged Indian lady. The lady, however, concealed her face from paparazzi, due to the fear of being caught.
