The recent UP election results was a topsy-turvy experience for Congress-SAPA and ever ruling BSP in the state. BJP swept away the poll results with an unbelievable flair in the UP state. But, the unbelievable win of Bhartiya Janta Party with 312 seats is even less shocking than media’s incompetency to detect such strong Modi wave in the state.

What we really need now is an unbiased and information source so that, the common people can get to know about what is going on around. But, these results were so shocking as if this was an overnight turn in the results. Sadly, this was not so as media was so much engrossed in their own beliefs. Though, they covered every nook and corner of these elections, they could not suggest the most prominent apprehension of these major elections.

BJP had a stronghold over the minds of voters, except media people. Looks like, they have missed on their core duties of informing people. Also, the indications were very clear as even after demonetisation, BJP was winning small and big election in the country.

Despite of the reporters and media had an adamant view of BJP’s loss in these elections. Not that, these predictions were mere spinned yarns because the media and reporters could not detect the reality.

Instead, they were talking about the Mayawati and Akhilesh’s comeback and benefits. After these results, media has gained wide criticism for projecting an unawared and may be intentionally false picture.

Media’s one most prominent tool is their “interpretations” and “predictions”, in which they have failed miserably this time.

This catastrophe of the era brings one sole solution to the media houses which is “self-reflection”. Self-assessment and evaluation is the only thing left to them, so that they can make some real sense in the next results.
