Every daughter is a little bird, anxiously waiting to take its first flight. They’ve hopes and potential that requires shelter and nurturing. Give them wings and they’ll fly beyond the horizon, soar up in the sky and build up a beautiful world around them. For many years, Rajasthan—a state that has been struggling with patriarchal values and drooping child sex ratio strived to prevent atrocities against unborn daughters and native women. Being a woman herself, Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje launched a string of women-centric schemes one after the other, Rajshree Yojana being one of them.
The irony is that we live in a country where our society worships the goddesses, but most of us prefer sons over daughters, thinking they would continue are legacy ahead. This attitude needs to be changed. To motivate the parents of young daughters and to provide them a decent education Vasundhara Raje introduced Rajshree Yojana on June 1 2016. Rajshree was based on the idea to provide direct benefits to newborn daughters in Rajasthan via Bhamashah cards.
It is one year since Rajshree yojana was implemented in Rajasthan and CM Raje’s ambitious scheme yielded positive results for the state. In just 12 months, around 117.95 crores were given to 4.7 lakh daughters in Rajasthan. Under Rajshree scheme, Rajasthan government lends financial support to daughters at fixed intervals of time.
Financial Perks under Rajshree Yojana
Total Rs 50,000 will be given to mothers, covering the basic requirements of their daughters from the time of their birth.
1. First Installment at the time of Birth:
Rs 2500 will be issued in check to the mother of the newborn daughter. This money could be utilized for mother-child healthcare.
2. Second Installment when the Daughter is 1 year old:
Rs 2500 under ‘Mamta Card’ will be given for the daughters’ vaccination.
3. Third Installment at the time of Admission:
Rs 4000 will be given to the daughters as so as they get admission in first standard.
4. Fourth Installment when she Steps into Standard VI:
Rs 5000 will be awarded to her when she clears fifth standard.
5. Fifth Installment for taking Admission in Class XI
Rs 11,000 will be given to daughters who wish to pursue high school.
6. Sixth Installment for Passing Class XI with Flying Colors
Rs 25,000 will be given to daughters when the step into class XII.
As per National Health Mission director Mr. Navin Jain, all daughters falling availing the benefits of Rajshree or Shubh Lakshmi yojana will get their funds via online software ‘Ojas’. The funds are provided to original natives of Rajasthan by state women and child development bodies.
Rajshree yojana is directly linked with Bhamashah card. It’s essential for the natives to get their Bhamashah cards made, if they wish to avail direct benefits of Raje’s scheme for women.
