Rajasthan University to conduct MPAT examination for MPhil and Ph.D. students on April 22.

    Rajasthan University is now equipped to conduct MPAT examination for MPhil and Ph.D. MPAT examination

    The exam is going to be held at Rajasthan University on April 22, 2018. Over 3104 candidates are sitting for this exam across the country. The exam is taking place for 333 Ph.D. and 258 MPhil awards in 29 academic departments of RU, against the total of 38 departments. MPAT examination

    Although the exams are being conducted after two years, the number of seats haS reduced. The shortage of seats for Ph.D. is due to the plunging number of senior faculty members in the RU. MPAT examination

    Bhupendra Singh Shekhawat, chief public relations officer of RU said, “The faculty crunch has reduced the numbers of seats for research scholars.”

    “The number of seats is also less due to new guidelines of the UGC. Earlier, guides were called from affiliated colleges but new guidelines say that teachers from colleges which have research facilities are eligible to be the guides for Ph.D. Not many colleges have research facilities, reducing the number of research guides,” he added.

    Another source closely working with the development said, “The new UGC guidelines limit the research guides to have a maximum of eight students for professors, six for associate professors and four for assistant professors. Rajasthan University MPAT

    This has also brought down the number of seats in the university.” The unfortunate delay in exams has also engendered career affecting consequences for thousands of students. These students are waiting for their JRF. Rajasthan University MPAT

    The delay of two years in the entrance exam has affected the prospects of several students who are waiting for their JRF. In order to avoid further delays, many students opted for private institutions and moved to other cities. Rajasthan University MPAT

    The students have had to pay a fess of as much as Rs 2 Lac per year for completing their education (Ph.D.) at private institutions. Rajasthan University MPAT
