New Aggressive Rajasthan Tourism Campaigns & Restoration of Historic Heritage will Attract More Tourists this Year…

Rajasthan the land of forts, royalty, valour and sacrifices, reflects unique culture, beauty and diversity of its own. Situated in the north-western region of India, the state is crowned with eye-catching golden sand dunes, the majestic Aravali Hills, magnificent palaces, dense forests and scenic lakes that attract countless migratory birds. A state with great tourism potential, Rajasthan has almost everything except mountains and beaches, which make it one of the leading tourist destinations of India.

If the business gurus are to be believed, the state has successfully captured the attention of the business class. Several travel companies, hotels and travel-related businesses eye Rajasthan’s extensive MICE market since it shows great potential for growth. The place has everything that business tourists, foreigners and adventurists desire. Perhaps this is why the state witnessed an increase of 2.60% and 17.93% in the inflow of foreign and domestic travellers in last two years.

Just recently, the tourism minister informed the house that around 4 crore tourists visited Rajasthan in 2016. The number was slightly higher than 2015 wherein 3.66 crore travellers visited Rajasthan—a fact informed by rural development minister Mr. Rajendra Rathore. It’s a world-known fact that Rajasthan was 6th most popular travel destination in 2015. Realising the tourism potential of the state CM Vasundhara Raje has increased the tourism fund for the upcoming financial year (2017-2018) by 22.37%.

In last few years, barring UP, Rajasthan was far ahead than other travel destinations like Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab and Haryana in terms of tourist influx. To outshine other states this year, the government has invested in air and road connectivity, adventure sports and restoration of travel hotspots to boost economy generated through tourism.

  • Rajasthan’s Aggressive Tourism Marketing Policy

Raje government had invested in aggressive Rajasthan Tourism campaigns to promote Rajasthan as a lucrative tourist destination. This year, the government has invested Rs 88 crores for promotion. Besides, the authorities will put in Rs 36 crores for restoration and revamping of historical heritage.

  • Upcoming Changes in the Following Year

In the coming years, the government is bent on introducing the following changes in state

  • Restoration of 18 museums that harbour rare exhibits in Rajasthan.
  • Digitisation of old manuscripts at Maulana Abdul Kalam Aazaad Arbi Farsi Research Institute.
  • Revamping Chittorgarh Fort.
  • Introduction of new Panorama spots.
  • Free air pilgrimage for 10,000 senior citizens under Deendayal Upadhyaya Varishth Nagrik Teerthyatra yojana.
  • New inns for Rajasthan travellers at Badrinath and Tirupati Balaji pilgrim spots.
  • Conservation of wood fossils at Aakal wood Fossil Park.
  • Grasslands for great Indian bustard at Desert National Park.
  • Eco-Tourism at Trevor’s Tank, Mount Abu.

The government intends to lure more travellers to Rajasthan, by reinforcing the existing tourism policy of the state. They aim at developing Rajasthan as the top tourism destination of India.
