Rajasthan is progressing towards and treading towards a trajectory of success and accomplishment. The last four years have been a package of infrastructure, business, refinery, technology, innovation and so much more. Recently, Transport minister Yunus Khan announced that two express highways Bhatinda-Ahmedabad express highway via Rajasthan and Delhi-Vadodara via Jaipur are in the pipeline.
Yunus Khan made the announcement after meeting Union road transport minister Nitin Gadkari. Another important piece of news is that the new expressways will be built using new land which will be acquired. In other words, it will not be constructed on the existing national highways.
Bharat Mala Scheme Rajasthan Express Highways
The express highways will be a part of the Bharat Mala project. For this purpose, the Centre has given a financial sanction for the construction of 553km-long three national highways at Rs 3,000 crore. Rajasthan Express Highways
The Bharat Mala Scheme entails the construction of 1,900 km of national highways proposed in Rajasthan. Reportedly, Gadkari had issued approval for three roads which will be constructed in the border areas of Barmer and Jaisalmer.

Gagaria-Sata-Bakhasar-Gandhav project
The project is running at a fast pace, considering the successful completion of the tender process for three roads. The longest road project stretches about 197 km and is that of Gagaria-Sata-Bakhasar-Gandhav. This national highway will be known as NH-25.
This will also be the first project which will be commenced. The highway will be two-lane with a paved shoulder. The project’s capital cost is pegged at Rs 1134 crore. The project will be carried out on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis.
The Centre has sanctioned a total of 789 crores, out of the total project capital cost estimated by GHV (India) Pvt. Ltd., the company to which the contract has been awarded. The construction period is estimated to be 24 months. Rajasthan Express Highways
Banasar-Ramgarh-Tanotmatha-Sarkarithala project
As far as the other highway projects are concerned, there is a 193 Km Banasar-Ramgarh-Tanotmatha-Sarkarithala project costing about Rs 914 crore. This highway project will be called NH-11. Rajasthan Express Highways
Rajariya-Abha-Mangal project Rajasthan Express Highways
The third and the last one is the 162 Km Rajariya-Abha-Mangal project is in Bikaner district. Close to half of the estimated cost has been sanctioned to the State government for this project which is pegged at about Rs 1,300 crore.
