Startup Exposure Program : Supporting Students
As per the media reports, a senior official has revealed that the exposure program will support 500 top student developers to create startups. Out of these, 100 students will be offered an opportunity to go to USA and get acquainted with the global system of startups.
Selection of Agency
As of now, the state government’s IT department is working on the selection of an agency that would implement the startup exposure program. The selection procedure is likely to be completed by March after which the execution of the program will be carried out.
Objective behind the Program
It’s often observed that the young and budding entrepreneurs are loaded with great ideas but they lack enough experience to channel those ideas into productive end results. Moreover, there are too many challenges and uncertainties that have to be dealt with. So the basic idea is to prepare such students for business, provide them guidance, and also support them for fundraising and other noteworthy assistance.
More about the Program
As per a senior official associated with the program, the program is based on the concept that many startups shut down because of the lack of knowledge that is required to build a strong business. In such a scenario, the program would help in increasing the chances of success and will also boost the investors’ confidence in making the investment.
Other Initiatives by Rajasthan Government
This isn’t the first time that the Rajasthan government is working towards boosting the scope of small startups. The government had already launched its flagship program named istart that has received loads of registrations. It acts as a one-stop solution for startups that can avail government benefits and ease out the process of doing business.
As per the official data, the state has set up more than 600 startups in the last 3 years. Out of these, 23 have even received a funding of around 142 Million US Dollars. Besides, the government had also introduced a grading and ranking system for startups, back in August.
