Rajasthan Ordinance: CM Raje sends the Bill to Select Committee; House appreciates, calls it a good move

Someone who doesn’t leave any stone unturned for compliance, CM Vasundhara Raje has proved her grit yet again by following the protocol against all odds. CM Raje has sent the Ordinance for review. The Rajasthan Ordinance which created a stir of sorts in the Rajasthan politics has been directed and sent to a select committee in the Rajasthan assembly.  

CM Raje arranged a meeting with her ministers at the Chief Minister residence to decide the fate of the Rajasthan Ordinance. And it was finally decided that the Rajasthan Ordinance should be referred to a Select committee.

The decision on the bill will be taken inside the house. Once the bill is tabled in the assembly, it cannot be decided upon outside the house,” Rajasthan BJP Chief, Ashok Parnami informed the media.

A Good Move by CM Raje

Amit Malviya took to Twitter to praise CM Raje for the good move she had taken as per the Rajasthan Ordinance. “The Rajasthan legislature has sent back the Criminal Laws (Rajasthan Amendment) Ordinance 2017 to select committee for review. Good move,” he tweeted.

What is the Rajasthan Ordinance all about?

As far as theRajasthan Ordinance is concerned, it is a milestone act which will prohibit magistrates from launching an investigation while deciding an application moved under Section 156 (3) of CrPC. It also refrains magistrates from ordering the registration of FIRs.

An uproar from the Congress

Amid an untoward rebel from the opposition Congress, the Criminal Laws (Rajasthan Amendment) Bill was tabled in the state assembly by home minister Gulabchand Kataria. The aim was to replace an ordinance promulgated on 7 September.
