As soon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Main Bhi Chowkidar campaign yesterday, people started changing their names on social media by putting “Chowkidar” as the prefix. From Rajasthan BJP, former CM Vasundhara Raje and several Union ministers including Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and former Sawai Madhopur MLA Diya Kumari changed their names on Twitter.
Earlier, PM Modi also changed his names on Twitter to ‘Chowkidar’, with BJP chief Amit Shah and several Union ministers the following suit.
मैं नये भारत की कल्पना से सहमत विचार हूं…
हां, मैं भी चौकीदार हूं।I am proud to join #MainBhiChowkidar movement. As a citizen who loves India, I shall do my best to defeat corruption, dirt, poverty & terrorism and help create a New India which is strong, secure & prosperous.

On Saturday PM urged supporters to take the #MainBhiChowkidar pledge against corruption and #MainBhiChowkidar was a top trend worldwide.
“Your Chowkidar is standing firm and serving the nation. But, I am not alone. Everyone who is fighting corruption, dirt, social evils is a Chowkidar. Everyone working hard for the progress of India is a Chowkidar,” Modi said in a series of tweets. “Today, every Indian is saying. Main Bhi Chowkidar,” he added.
The campaign is likely to counter Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ jibe as the BJP did in 2014 by aggressively countering former Union Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar’s “chaiwallah” comment against Modi. So here is the Chowkidar PM Narendra Modi to counter Rahul Gandhi’s Chowkidar Chor hai noise.
