The third edition of Rajasthan heritage Week, an extravagant celebration of fashion, is all set to start in the capital city Jaipur on 7th December 2017. The fest will take place at Diggi Palace Hotel from 7th to 10th December 2017. It’s a unique occasion that brings together the conventional textile arts of the state and the most talented fashion designers.

The aim of this event is to highlight India’s own fabric of Khadi and popularize it at an international level. The Rajasthan Heritage Week is not only a medium to educate the youth about the importance of Khadi but also to make it a fashion statement. The festival is organized in a joint effort of Rajasthan Government with Prasad Bidapa Associates. Prasad Bidapa is a famous fashion choreographer who is also the Show director and format creator for the event.

The festival was commissioned by Vasundhara Raje Government in 2015 to promote the Rajasthani textiles and to popularize the locally prepared Khadi and Kota Doria amongst the designers at a national as well as international level.

The Rajasthan Heritage Week third edition is going to be carried out at a much larger scale. It will have more designers involved in presenting their work on the ramp. Renowned designer Rohit Bal will be showcasing a floral trend on the ramp while Bangladeshi designer Biwi Russell will present a wide range of sarees.

Besides, fashion designer Wendell Rodricks from Goa will showcase Khadi clothes in a multi-color palette while designers Hemant Trivedi and Pavitra Mudia will have their saree collection lined up for the show. Other prominent designers of the show include Urvashi Kaur, Rimzim Dadu, Rohit Kamra, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Ajay Kumar, and Raghvendra Rathore.

The event will bring forth association between 29 designers and 19 craftsmen/weavers working in harmony with each other. This will bring out the best possible combination of modern fashion and conventional textile art. Mainly Kota Doria and Khadi clothes in varieties of cotton and silk will be focused upon by the designers. The models draping these fashionable attires will come all the way from Delhi, Mumbai, and Jaipur as well.

Some major highlights of the event will be:

  • Weavers Section of the show open to public from 4 pm onwards on all days.
  • The Great Bibi Russell starting 8 pm section on December 8
  • Finale of Rajasthan Heritage Week 2017 by Designer Rohit Bal
