From this academic session, the government will publish data pertaining to Rajasthan government schools on the official portal. This information will cover number of schools present in a region, no. of classrooms and other facilities, no. students enrolled in a school, no. of teachers available for teaching, student-teacher ratio, name and contact of school head/principals etc. This way the parents will be able to retrieve information regarding the quality of schools in their area.
- New Bicycles for Girl Students
All girl students enrolled in class IX at government schools will be provided with orange coloured cycles for swift commuting. Following this announcement, the Rajasthan Congress has accused the BJP government for saffronising education sector. However, the BJP leaders defend this move saying that orange represents quest for light, knowledge and salvation hence it’s appropriate for students.
- New Uniforms for Spick and Span Students
For this session, sky blue uniform will replace the usual khaki and light brown school attire for government school students. The leaders are hopeful that a change in appearance will boost self-confidence of the students.
- New Chapter on Digital Economy
Post-demonetisation, the government is planning to make students familiar with the benefits of digital economy. Therefore, Secretary of Board of Secondary Education Meghna Chaudhary has decided to add as new chapter on digital economy and demonetisation. The revised class XII textbooks of economics will include a new chapter on cashless economy.
- Historical Biographies
Rajasthan boasts a glorious, colourful history. The authorities believe that after India’s independence, the history books didn’t include authentic facts because of biasness of the authors and slave mentality. So, the government has decided to revise the class XII history syllabus. They’ll include 200 historical personalities and their life stories. Appropriate importance will be given to every sect and religion.
- Star Ratings will be given to Deserving Students
The students will be graded on different criteria like cleanliness, attendance, results, punctuality etc. This will inculcate positive values in students.
According to the latest reports, there are 50,993 government schools in Rajasthan with 36, 48,994 students and 1, 49,391 teachers enrolled in them. These reformations will empower students with better understanding of the world around them, invoke healthy competition and fill them with self-confidence to take up challenges.
