It will be a memorable step to taken by the government of Rajasthan. The state government is planning to develop a model Atal Seva Kendra. This seva Kendra will be a tribute to the former PM who passed away on 16th August at the age of 93.
This model Kendra will work as a living memorial to Vajpayee. This Kendra will provide public utility e-service facilities to state’s citizens. This will also house literature, information and other objects related to the late Prime Minister’s life. Know more.

There are almost 10,000 Atal Seva Kendras (earlier called Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendras) in Rajasthan at village panchayat and panchayat samiti levels. These seva kendras provide public utility services to rural people. There are 33 Atal Suvidha Kendras at district level.

On Atal Seva Kendra, Rajendra Rathore said that these kendras will keep Atalji remain alive through villages and panchayats. He further added that by making Atal Seva Kendras as the most efficient public service centres, Atalji will be immortalized. Government also plans to improve the services provided by these centres presently.
These services include Aadhar card, PAN card, utility bill payments, ration cards and other government-to-public services. Although the location for the centre is not decided, it should be near Jaipur. Rathore also talked on Kendra’s name controversy that we would not let Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s name to be removed from these centres.
Controversy over renaming Kendras
To commemorate Atal Vajpayee’s birthday, Vasundhara Raje government had renamed the kendras to Atal Seva Kendra from Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra. But, this decision got criticism and was challenged in the court. Rajasthan High Court quashed the Raje government’s renaming order and directed the state government to reinstate the previous name.
