AIIMS Jodhpur (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) bagged the fourth prize under Centre’s scheme ‘Kayakalp’ this Wednesday. The central health department tested 16 health centres all over the country on 7 key parameters. Based on this data, the top four scorers were awarded with cash prizes. The award-winning contenders were:
- I rank: AIIMS Delhi that won Rs 5 crore,
- II rank: PGMIR Chandigarh that won Rs 3 crore,
- III rank: NEIGRIHMS Shillong that won Rs 1 crore
- IV rank: AIIMS Jodhpur that won Rs 50 lakh.
AIIMS Jodhpur Bags Rs 50 Lakh for Ranking IV under Centre’s Kayakalp Scheme
According to AIIMS deputy director NR Bishnoi, The Centre selected 7 AIIMS campuses for the Kayakalp scheme. The following parameters were considered for final scores of the hospitals.
- Hospital Upkeep (130 marks): It includes Lighting, greenery, waste disposal, power backup, office maintenance, waste recycling, power/water/sewage lines, record maintenance, energy conservation.
- Infection Control (100 marks): Hand hygiene, maintenance of medicines, drugs and equipment/testing facilities, infection surveillance.
- Sanitation and Hygiene (150 marks): Circulation area, departmental hygiene, emergency lab, OT, labour room, CCU, ICU, general ward maintenance, cleanliness and overall monitoring.
- Hygiene Promotion (80 marks): Uniforms, Community monitoring, Teamwork, leadership qualities in staff, circulation of information.
- Hospital Support Service (40 marks): Kitchen, laundry, security, outsource management.
- Waste Management (100 marks): Biomedical/Radioactive/Inorganic/Organic waste treatment and segregation, storage and collection, transportation, recycling etc.
- Feedback Mechanism (50 marks): Response mechanism adopted for visitors and staff.
AIIMS Jodhpur scored exceptionally well in 4 out of 7 criteria mentioned above. But that’s not all! Even regional and community health centres are performing well, as per centre’s standards.
Bisau CHC, Hanumangarh and Pali District Hospitals Get Awarded under Centre’s Swachh Bharat Abhigyan
This Wednesday, the Union Ministry of Health had facilitated two district hospital (Pali and Hanumangarh) and a CHC or Community Health Centre (Bisau) under Swachh Bharat abhiyan in New Delhi. These hospitals were judged on six parameters, mainly: waste disposal, hospital upkeep, hygiene promotion, infection control, support services and sanitation. The said hospitals scored highest points on these parameters.
Considering their exemplary performance, CHC Bisau received Rs 15 Lakh, Pali district hospital received Rs 20 lakh and Hanumangarh district hospital received Rs 50 lakh as the cash prize.
This is a major accomplishment for Rajasthan, a state that recently broke free from the shackles of being a ‘BEEMARU’ state.
