May 11, 2018 is 20th anniversary of Pokhran Nuclear Test. These tests were held on 11th and 13th May in Pokhran when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was Prime Minister of India. On this special occasion, Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje addressed Yuva Shakti Sammelan (youth power conference) organized at Baran, Rajasthan. We are Humble, not Weak
CM Raje was extremely elated as this was the proud moment for India as well as Rajasthan. CM Raje worshipped the soil brought from Pokhran and also addressed the event. At the event, she praised former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their efforts. CM Raje also appreciated the modesty of India. Raje said,” we are humble, not weak. If someone raises his eyes on us, we can show him our strength. An example of this is surgical strike.”
She also said that under the leadership of PM Modi, India is emerging as a powerful country in the world. It is wonderful to see that entire world can see how credible India is. In fact, India has sustained its effect across the world.

CM Raje part of Central Government in 1988
Talking about the government of former PM Vajpayee, she said that nuclear tests were done during his second tenure. At that time, she was MoS Foreign affairs in the Central Government. She further talked about after effects of Pokhran II. After these tests, many kinds of restrictions are imposed on India. But Vjapayee’s government did not bend.
Other updates from the event
As Rajasthan Assembly and Lok Sabha elections are round the corner so Raje called upon Youth Morcha workers to gear up for the forthcoming polls. She also talked about the works done at the centre and the state by BJP government for youth and appreciated it. Raje also said that no stone will be left unturned for Baran’s development.
The event was attended by State Speaker of Yuva Morcha Ashok Saini, MP Dushyant Singh, Agriculture Minister Prabhulal Saini and many others.
Pokhran II
In May 1998, Pokhran tests were conducted. It was series of nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by India at the Indian Army’s Pokhran Test Range. It was the second Indian nuclear test and named Operation Shakti.
