Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje launched the Cancer Out Campaign at Jaipur’s SMS Stadium on 11th May just before the IPL match played between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings. This campaign is an initiative by the state government, National Cancer Grid, Indian Cancer Society, and Indian Dental Association in Rajasthan.

Just before the match, CM Raje also presented a momento to Chennai Super Kings Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. CM Raje donned a pink saree at the event as the Rajasthan Royals players sported a pink jersey to promote the idea of early cancer screening. A photograph from the event from tweeted by Raje whereby she expressed delight on being a part of the program.

Talking about the campaign, it aims at spreading awareness about early screening of cancer as it can help reduce the effects of the disease, if detected at an early stage. Ideally, every person must get screened for cancer on an annual basis. But sadly, most of the cancer patients approach the doctors when they are at the last stage of cancer that leaves a very little scope for their treatment.
