The Central Cooperative Society will Launch Mobile ATMs in Rajasthan Villages Untouched by Modern Banking Facilities…

From e-NAM (online mandis) to Bhamashah Yojana and e-Mitra online government service centers: Rajasthan has always been an ardent advocate of digitization in every field. Currency crunch was a persistent problem after demonetization. Following this, the state decided to experiment with e-banking. To educate natives about e-banking, the 29 Central Cooperative Banks will launch mobile ATMs in rural areas of Rajasthan. The ‘ATMs on wheels’ will go door-to-door, in a bid to generate awareness on quick cash withdrawals, ATM transfers, and internet banking. Rajasthan Cooperative societies will execute this project with the help of NABARD.

According to Rajasthan Cooperative Minister Mr. Ajay Singh Klick, it’s an effort to extend banking facilities in rural regions of Rajasthan untouched by bank branches. Klick took this opportunity to appreciate NABARD’s e-Shakti program, which empowers self-help groups via digitization.

The government believes this step will help villagers open up to the idea of depositing money into bank accounts. This will also ensure that each village has its independent banking facilities.

Klick zealously spoke about government’s goals in boosting the cooperative sector. The state cooperative department will catalyze women empowerment with the help of the government. The SHGs will receive credits at subsidized rates so they can accomplish their goals.

Besides spreading a word on internet/mobile banking, the government will eliminate obstacles in the recruitment process of cooperative society.

Besides spreading a word on internet/mobile banking, the government will eliminate obstacles in the recruitment process of cooperative society.

This week, the government issued a notification for setting up a new cooperative recruitment board for state employees. Additionally, they’d set the minimum education criteria for each category. The board will comprise of a chairman, secretary, registrar, and additional registrar to ensure fair and transparent selection of candidates.

At this rate, the cooperative societies will achieve their goals sooner than expected.
