BSF launches Operation Alert to Ensure Border Safety on Independence Day

With Indian Independence Day just around the corner, the valiant, ever-ready BSF jawans are psyched-up at the Indo-Pakistan border for the upcoming festivities. Having received intelligence inputs on unidentified, armed terrorists that are likely to trespass into India on August 15, the Indian military forces have launched ‘Operation Alert’ in the entire western border, this Monday. With Op Alert in place, the forces will fix loopholes in security and strengthen border management.

The BSF, looking at the persistent terror threat across the Bagha border in past couple of months, has fortified its border management. They’ve put on high alert in J&K, Punjab, and Rajasthan. All military officers and BSF jawans are keeping a sharp eye on the border region to prevent any untoward activities on the occasion of Independence Day.

Operation Alert, which began this Monday, will continue till August 20. All officers will participate in this exercise to keep terrorists at bay.

DIG Ravi Gandhi (BSF Rajasthan Frontier) confirmed the status of operation alert at Rajasthan borders. Starting from Monday, the armed forces will keep vigilance on the geographically difficult terrain and sensitive regions. They’ve deployed additional security personnel, wherever required, besides implementing smart technologies for border safety. Besides 24×7 patrolling, the soldiers are using night vision devices and other technical gadgets to guard the border.

The army plans to increase foot patrolling, vehicle patrolling and other operational activities to overcome new challenges across the border. The intelligence bureau has alerted the border outposts regarding the imminent threat looming over the Independence Day. Armed officers, in coordination with Rajasthan police, will conduct rear patrolling in border villages and near BSF posts to ensure complete safety of the citizens.

It’s the vigilant efforts and sacrifice of the soldiers that keep us going on in our daily lives. Due to them, the citizens celebrate national festivals peacefully, with great fervor. This year too, on the 70th Independence Day, the armed forces will do everything within their capabilities to ensure that all citizens enjoy a peaceful nap in their homes every night. We’re lucky to have gallant Indian soldiers at guard in our country.
