    The final match of Nidahas Trophy on Sunday night was full of interesting twists before it ended on a sweet note for India. It was Dinesh Karthik’s last ball six that led India towards the series win by 4 wickets against Bangladesh.

    This is the first time in 5 years that India has lifted a tri series trophy. Although Dinesh Karthik scored 29 runs off just 8 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes, the suspense kept mounting till the very end moment.

    India needed 35 runs in last three overs to win the match as well as the series and Karthik beautifully changed the game in India’s favour. However, Vijay Shankar got dismissed in the last over after scoring a four which left Karthik with a high pressure. India still needed 5 balls with just 1 ball remaining and it was a situation of ‘do or die’ for him. However, despite the pressure, he pulled of an impossible six on the last ball India was able to lift the Nidahas trophy.

    First Innings

    In the first Innings, Bangladesh scored 166/8 in 20 overs with the help of Sabbir Rahman’s 77 runs, the highest in the lineup. However, other players were limited by the ace bowling from India whereby Chahal took 3 wickets, Unadkut took 2, and Washington dismissed 1.

    Second Innings Dinesh Karthik last Ball Six

    In the second Innings when India came to bat, Captain Rohit Sharma scored the maximum score of 56 in the batting lineup. However, the limelight was taken by Karthik who, in spite of being positioned at number 6, played at the strike rate of 362.5.     Highest Strike Rate Dinesh Karthik last Ball Six

    With this exceptional performance, Karthik scored runs at the strike rate of 362.50 which is the joint-highest strike rate by an Indian batsman in the T20 format. The record with the same strike rate is already held by Yuvraj Singh who had scored 58 runs off 16 balls against England in 2007.
