More than 5 Lac people turn into Human Chain for ‘Shahadat ko Salaam’; The longest human chain in Rajasthan

More than 5 Lac state people joined their hands to Solute the Martyrdom of our brave soldiers on Tuesday, the day before Independence Day. People from Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, and Barmer joined 700 km long human chain to pay tribute to our soldiers. National highway 68, which runs parallel to the border through these districts, witnessed the longest human chain ever formed in the state.

Not only local residents but also hundreds of people from all over the state came here to become a part of this proud moment. The human chain formed between 11 am to 1 pm on August 14. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also played the part of this chain in Jaisalmer. CM Raje even welcomed the people by showering them with flowers from helicopter. CM Raje’s helicopter was lifted from Uttarlai airforce station on 10:50 and hovered over the entire human chain.

‘Rajasthan is the Land of the Worries’

CM Raje said, ‘Rajasthan is the land of the warriors. When a soldier’s family gets the news of the martyrdom of their son, they feel proud instead of mourning. They defiantly say that their son embraced martyrdom for the country.’ ‘Go through the history, you will come to know that how our brave emperors and soldiers fought for the motherland.

Many of them fought even after getting beheaded by the enemy. Our sons still possess the same feeling for the nation. This is why Rajasthan is called the motherland of the warriors and bravery.’ Raje further added.

CM Raje had declared about the program during her Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra in Bhindar, Udaipur. ‘Brave sons of Rajasthan defiantly guard our borders and embrace martyrdom while protecting us. Even today our sons are always on the frontline to protect the nation. Through this program, our government will spread the message to our brave soldiers that every child of the country is standing by them.’

The human chain started from Hindumalkot town of Sri Ganganagar. After covering 175 km of district, it entered into Bikaner and was continued for 700 km, through Jaisalmer and to the last point at Bariyada town in Barmer.

Bureaucrats, political leaders and administrative officers worked seriously for the formation of this longest human chain ever made in Rajasthan. The administration has been in touch with people, schools and college students, scout-guides, NCC, NSS and other social organization and gathered support for the initiative. Various cultural programs were held during this tributary celebration.
