Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former Indian cricket team captain has become a hot topic on Twitter. Ace cricketer’s Aadhaar details were erroneously made public on Tuesday.
The information and technology minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was addressed by Sakshi Dhoni on twitter. Sakshi brought the issue of privacy-breach in the knowledge of the IT Minister.
E-governance agency Common Services Center (CSC) posted MS Dhoni’s personal Aadhaar details on Twitter, which garnered a lot of attention and speculation.
On Tuesday, the CSC official tweeted, “Ace cricketer MS Dhoni and his family get their Aadhar updated at VLE Mariya, Farooqui’s CSC at Ranchi, Jharkhand.”
A CSC agent named Ahsan Ali had been designated the task of handling Dhoni’s Aadhar updation task. He shook hands with the ace cricketer and got a picture clicked.
Along with the tweet, a picture of Dhoni and Ahsan was also attached. Till here, it was acceptable. But No, the e-governance agency also posted picture of an application form which clearly depicted the personal details of Dhoni.
This irked the cricketer’s wife, and rightly so.
Interestingly, the Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad liked the tweet, without noticing that Dhoni’s personal details had also been inadvertently made public.
Sakshi came to the rescue of the less-informed minister, who was not aware about the application form which was also attached to the tweet.
Sakshi tweeted, “Is there any privacy left? Information of Adhaar card, including application, is made public property.”
Initially, the minister refuted claims of violation made by Sakshi. He also questioned Sakshi if any information has been divulged.
In response, Sakshi shared the CSC’s tweet of Dhoni’s Aadhaar details with the minister.
The minister was apprised of the issue of privacy breach, after which he vowed to take strict action against the offender.
“Thanks for bringing this to my notice. Sharing personal information is illegal. Serious action will be taken against this,” Ravi Shankar Prasad replied.
In response to this, Sakshi also thanked the minster.
