DigiFest Kota: It is for our youth to shape the future of Rajasthan, CM Raje said

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje launched a Rs 500-crore fund for boosting start-ups in the state at the grand festival named the ‘DigiFest 2017’ in Kota. This is the first time any such event has been organized in the state.

CM Raje addressed the 2-day meeting of start-ups, technology enthusiasts, banks and government departments. “We are the first state to have such Rs 500 crore funds,” CM Raje said.

She said, “We hold the start-ups very-very close to our heart, therefore this start-up promotion fund of Rs 500 crore that we are going be setting up now.”

‘Rajasthan Digifest 2017’, an event was organised here by the state’s Department of Information Technology (DoIT).

CM Raje chose three start-ups out of a basket of start-ups which presented their ideas at the DigiFest in front of top-notch digital enthusiasts, technologists and start-ups at the DigiFest programme. The selected start-ups were awarded projects worth Rs 30 lakh. CM Raje also said that the project is most likely to cross Rs 1 crore in the future.

Major announcements of CM Raje speech

CM Raje launched the iStart – This is an integrated Startup Platform which acts as an online system which will be a seamless platform for the startups and the Angel Funds and Venture Capitals. I-Start is the first of its type in India.

Not only this, iStart will also rate the startups through the Q-Rate system (in collaboration with Applyifi). Signature and Platinum rated start-ups will find it easy to connect with funds, Gold, Silver and Bronze start-ups shall have work a bit harder to move up the quality chain.

“Rajasthan is now acknowledged for being a leading player in the creation of digitally enabled smart society with initiatives such as Bhamashah, E-Mitra, Raj-NET, Rajasthan Sampark amongst many other initiatives,” CM Raje said.

The City Gas Distribution Network in Kota was also launched at the DigiFest programme. The Gas network will ensure the expansion of domestic connections from 3000 to 20,000. Not only this, Industrial connections will scale up to 27 while commercial connections will increase to 21 by the end of 2018-19.
