    Kumbharam Pariyojana

The dichotomy of governments is that some boast 100, do 1%, while others boast 1%, do 90%! The analogy is clearly directed to Congress and BJP. Let us understand this better using the exemplification of the Jhunjhunu district. Kumbharam Pariyojana

Let’s transport ourselves to the Malsisar town of Jhunjhunu. The Kumbharam Arya Lift Pariyojana had everything from a Storage Dam, Pump House, Chlorine House built in the Malsisar town of Jhunjhunu. There was good water supply too.

However, the bridge collapsed soon after. This took a toll on the availability of water in the area. However, the then government Congress took no further step to ameliorate the situation. The collapsing of the dam led to a heavy loss to the project and livelihood in the area.

The Congress government shelled out a whopping sum of Rs 588 crores for the project, however, seems like the funds were just meant for enriching its close ministers and nowhere benefitting the Aam Aadmi. On the completion of 12%, a sum of 68 crores was issued to the contractor. In the second phase, 38% assignment got completed in 18 months. Finally, a sum of Rs 408 crores was paid on completion of 75% work.

If reports are to be believed, the pains of the local people were not given any heed by the then government. It is only when BJP formed the government in Rajasthan that attention was given to this project. Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje will be inaugurating the project tomorrow. This will act as a beacon of hope and good times in the lives of the dwellers.

This is not the only example. Rajasthan government led by CM Raje announced a one-time waiver of loans up to Rs 50,000, overdue to cooperative banks from small and marginal farmers. The decision cost the state Rs 8,000 crore. This step provided and extended a huge relief for the tireless farmers. However, the Congress government was still complaining but was not mentioning about its own acts in its regime. How and why does Congress always become a victim of its own no-brainers?
