Jaipur’s Narendra Kharra Receives Ironman Prize

    Jaipur people are getting more health conscious every day. A recent achievement by Narendra Singh Kharra from Rajasthan has set an example for the city people. He has become the first person from the desert state to finish the Ironman Triathlon race. The race was organized in Texas and he could finish it in 15 hours and 51 minutes.

    Two years ago, the limelight was stolen by Milind Soman who completed the ironman race in 15 hours and 19 minutes and drew everyone’s attention towards him.

    After Milind Soman, many people tried to achieve this bar in the Ironman Trithlon. Usually, the race has 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike and 42.2 km running. All this, have to be finished in 17 hours.

    Others who have contributed in the winner’s list for this competition include a businessman named Narendra Singh Kharra. In Texas, he participated in the competition and could finish it within 15 hours and 51 minutes. This was achieved on April 22. He is co-owner of an IT company which is in Jaipur and in US. He came to know about the race when he heard about Milind’s achievement in the news. It was after that when he made his decision to partake in it. He further added, “The first time I learned about this triathlon was when I read the news of Milind Soman completing the race in 2015. Before Milind’s achievement, people in India were not aware of the Ironman Triathlon race”. Explaining about his aim behind it, he said, “I wanted to represent Jaipur and India on an international level and thought this could help me to achieve my dream.”

    He talked thoroughly about the preparations of the race. He said that combining three disciplines, swimming, cycling and running are certainly not easy. He gives all the credit to his self-motivation.
