    About the Event

    ‘India Stone Mart 2017’ will be the largest international exposition on stone industry showcasing the world of natural dimensional stones, ancillary products and services comprehensively. The event will bring together various stakeholders of the stone industry — domestic and overseas producers, exporters and importers, consumers and buyers, experts, technology providers, architects, builders, developers, corporates, among others under a single umbrella.

    When and Where?

    The 9th edition of India Stone Mart will be held from 2 to 5 February, 2017 at Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Center (JECC) in Sitapura.

    Inaugural Session

    The inauguration of India Stone Mart, 2017 will be held on 2 February at 11 am. The Chief Guest on the occasion will be Industries Minister, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Rajpal Singh Shekhawat. This will be followed by a round of the exhibition by the dignitaries.

    Organisers

    The event is organised by Centre for Development of Stones (CDOS) with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) as co-organiser and is supported by the Government of Rajasthan and other reputed institutions. Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Ltd. (RIICO) is the Principal Sponsor of the event.

    Who are attending?

    India Stonemart 2017 will provide an ideal platform to exhibitors to promote their products, services and brand image amongst the consumers from across the globe and establish business linkages with them for enhancing their business horizon and prospects.With the ever increasing number of exhibitors and a record number of business visitors, India Stonemart 2017 is an ideal springboard to negotiate business deals, network with the stalwarts of the industry and to simply do business.

    Valedictory Session

    The Valedictory Session will be held on 5 February at 4 pm. The Rajasthan Industries Minister, Mr. Rajpal Singh Shekhawat and State Minister (Independent Charge) of Mines, Mr. Surenderpal Singh will be the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. The awards for best stall display will be given away during this session.

    ‘Jaipur Architecture Festival’ (JAF)

    Like the last edition of the ‘India Stone Mart’, one of the special features of the prestigious mega event will be the concurrent ‘Jaipur Architecture Festival’ (JAF). The festival will be inaugurated on 2 February by Minister for PWD & Transport, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Yunus Khan. The festival will remain operational till 4 February.

    To be held concurrently with the India Stone Mart, the objective of the festival is to provide an appropriate platform for exchange of new ideas, interaction and networking in the creative field of architecture. It is also fitting that the event is being held in Jaipur which embodies the spirit of enlightened urban designing, integrating vision and building craft traditions. It is expected that the JAF will firmly put Rajasthan on national and international stone scenario.

    JAF explores a range of ideas about future cities, the environment, architecture, the practice and education of the rich stone traditions. It is only appropriate to point out that presently the Indian subcontinent is poised for rapid growth in this sector. The architecture as well as the apt use of dimensional stones play a significant role in the holistic quality of life.
    Eminent architects from pan-India and abroad will participate. The participants will also include teaching faculties and students from important architectural colleges and institutes. The festival will play a pivotal role in updating the knowledge and awareness about availability and properties of different stones. The Centre for Development of Stones (CDOS) has also taken a number of initiatives for introducing the participants to the stone industry for hassle free selection and sourcing of stones as well as establishing direct linkages.

    The eminent speakers at JAF include Martha Thorne and Srdjan Jovanovic Weiss (USA); Assel Mukhasheva (Kazakhstan); Beatrice Leanza (China); Huang Sheng Yuan (Taiwan); Javier Corvalan (Paraguay); Kashef Mahboob Chowdhury , Kazi K. Ashraf , Saif UL Haque (Bangladesh); Kevin Mark Low (Malaysia); Palinda Kannangara, Madhura Prematilleke (Sri Lanka); Peter Rich (South Africa); Ritu Raj Rai (Nepal); Tan Szue Hann (Singapore); Balkrishna Doshi, Christopher Benninger, Durganand Balsavar, Premanand Chandavarkar, Rahul Gore, Rajeev Kathpalia, Rohan Shivkumar and Sangeeta Prasad (India).

    The event has been organized in association with Centre for Development of Stones (CDOS), and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). The Council of Architecture (CoA) and Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) are knowledge partners.

    Bigger and Better:

    India Stonemart 2017, the largest international exposition on stone industry, will comprehensively showcase the wide variety of natural dimensional stones, ancillary products and the services provided. Furthermore, the fair will also be an ideal forum for the exhibitors to promote their products, services and brand their image among the consumers from across the globe. The exhibition will have over 35,000 sqm area out of which 17,000 sqm will be the indoor exhibition space and rest will be the outdoor exhibition space. Over 460 exhibitors from across the globe will be putting up there stalls at the Stonemart this year. Exhibitors from 11 countries including India will be visiting the fair.

    International Participation:

    Confirmation for international participation has already been received from countries like Iran, China, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Greece, among others. Over 1500 overseas visitors are expected to visit the event. In all 156 overseas exhibitors will be putting up stalls at the event.In fact, Turkey, China, Iran and Italy will also be setting up their pavilions.

    Pan-India Participation:

    As in the past there will be a number of states setting-up their pavilions at the mart. Among them are Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh. A whopping number of 25,000 trade visitors are expected to visit the event. Furthermore, architects from many states will be participating as will be the exhibitors from 18 States.

    All India Stone Architectural Awards:

    The 8th edition of the ‘All India Stone Architectural Awards’ (AISAA) will be given away during India Stonemart on 2 February. The awards are given to the outstanding projects on the basis of their concepts and technical procedures which correspond to an idea of ‘creativity and excellence’ for the use of natural stones from India.

    Instituted in 2009 – this annual awards recognize and honour Indian architects for their creative and innovative use of Indian natural stones in different projects. The award is given in four categories namely (a) Exterior Facing (b) Interior Designs (c) Landscaping and (d) Green Architecture with a cash prize of Rs. 1.00 lac, a shield and a citation in each category.

    The members of the jury for AISAA this year are Ar. Nitin Saolapurkar, Ar. Madhav Joshi, Ar. Vijay Garg, Ar. Sachin Jain and Ar. Madhusudhan Chalasani.

    Shilpgram

    A stone artisans’ pavilion by the name of ‘Shilpgram’ is set up regularly at India Stone Mart. It is set up by CDOS in association with the Rural Non Farm Development Agency (RUDA) in a special area earmarked for artisans free of cost. Over the years this has become one of the star attractions of India Stone Mart. The objectives of the Shilpgram include providing a platform to stone artisans from all over India to directly showcase their skills and products to the national and international stone community. This will also enable them to establish direct business links with the buyers and to give them the much needed exposure. The artisans demonstrate their skills and craftsmanship before the visitors at the pavilion. This year 30 artisans have been allotted space in the Shilpgram.

    Reverse Buyer-Seller-Meet (RBSM):

    During India Stonemart 2017, a Reverse Buyer Seller Meet is also organized as concurrent event under Market Access Initiative of the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. 262 overseas buyers from 60 countries have got themselves registered under the programme. More than 1500 overseas visitors from all over the world are expected to participate in this programme during the fair.

    Other Attractions

    A separate pavilion of ‘Diamond Tool Manufacturers’; an eye-catching display of stone machinery and heavy earthmoving equipments are some of the other attractions of the mega event.
