Gujarat oath-taking ceremony: Vijay Rupani, Nitin Patel to helm state affairs

    The much-awaited Gujarat elections culminated in handing over the baton to BJP. Today was the oath taking ceremony for the ministers including the Vijay Rupani and Nitin Patel who was announced as the CM and Deputy CM on December 22. Here are the highlights of the oath-taking ceremony of Vijay Rupani. The oath taking ceremony of the ministers took place at the Gandhinagar Sachivalaya Ground.

    In the elections, BJP won against other parties with 99 seats in the 182-member Gujarat Assembly. This is the sixth time when BJP took charge in Gujarat.

    At 12:13 pm, the list of cabinet ministers were announced. A total of eight cabinet ministers and 10 ministers of state took oath as the state ministers. The incumbent candidate welcomed Prime Minister Modi in Gandhinagar. Amongst all the ministers, Kishor Kanani also took the oath from the Surat region of Gujarat.

    Other officers who also took oath were Ishwar Singh Patel, Jaydrath Singh Parmar, Bachubhai Maganbhai Khabad, Purshottam Solanki, Parbatbhai Patel, Pradipsinh Bhagvatsingh Jadeja takes the oath to be a part of the Gujarat Cabinet, Ishwarbhai Parmar, Dilip Kumar, Viraji Thakore, Jayeshbhai, Ganpat Bhai Vasava, Kaushik Patel took oath as Gujarat cabinet minister.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah attended the Gujarat oath taking ceremony along with chief ministers of 18 BJP states and central ministers, and other National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders.

    Vijay Rupani will head the government in the state for the second time in a row. The Gujarat elections were a testimony to BJP’s continued credibility and ‘Vikaas yojnayen’. PM Modi’s image has swept across the nation and Gujarat thunderous victory was enough proof.

    It was also being said that the Gujarat elections set the tune for the upcoming Centre elections slated to be held next year. What remains to be seen, however, is what CongressChif Rahul Gandhi has to offer to its party – a revamp or a complete breakdown?
