Constitution of National Committee to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhi Ji; CM Raje attends the meeting

For celebrating 150th birth anniversary of the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi, a National Committee has been constituted. On 3rd May, there is an inaugural meeting of National Committee in Delhi. The meeting is held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. Mahatma Gandhi birth anniversary

This meeting is chaired by President Ramnath Kovind and attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many senior leaders. Know more details.

The president of India asked to celebrate the birthday in ways that befits Mahatma Gandhi. It is known that the principle of Ahimsa is very relevant in today’s world due to increasing terrorism and other conflicts. It is the time to shape the earth according to the ideals of Gandhi. He further added that for building the 21st century, the ideals of justice, equality, peace, wisdom and the elimination of poverty. He also said that we invoke Gandhiji at multiple events like fighting for caste and religious prejudice, Swachh Bharat, rights of women and children and well-being of the Indian farmer etc. Mahatma Gandhi birth anniversary

Who attended the meeting Mahatma Gandhi birth anniversary 

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former PM Dr Manmohan Singh and BJP leader LK Advani, Minister of External Affairs of India Sushma Swaraj, President of the Bharatiya Janata Party Amit Shah, Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Odisha CM’s Naveen Patnaik, Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti and many more attended the meeting of the national committee. In fact, these leaders proposed heir ideas for the celebrations.

This committee will do the groundwork for the celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary which will be held across the country for a year starting October 2, 2019.
