The three BJP Candidates who filed nomination for the Biennnial Rajya Sabha Elections in Rajasthan were elected unopposed on Thursday. Congress had announced that it won’t field candidates for the Biennial bypolls and no other candidate apart from 3 BJP candidates had filed nomination for the same. The last date of withdrawing the nomination was 15th March.  BJP Rajya Sabha Candidates

The re-entry of Kirori Lal Meena has apparently worked in the favour of the saffron party. Kirori was earlier a part of BJP but had parted ways in the year 2008 and later joined the National People’s Party (NPP) in 2013. Not only he decided to come back to BJP but has also merged the NPP to the saffron party.  BJP Rajya Sabha Candidates

With Kirori coming back to the BJP, two more MLAs namely Geeta Verma and Kirori’s wife Golama Devi also re-joined the party ahead of the crucial state assembly elections.

This move by Kirori has alone led to several major changes in the political sphere of the state. On one hand, the scope of third front in the state has almost ended because majority of the leaders have either joined BJP or Congress.

Reportedly, not just Kirori Meena but even BJP is quite happy about this reunion. As per CM Raje, Kirodi will prove to be an aid to the party in making the state Congress free.

Apart from Meena, sitting Rajya Sabha MP Bhupendra Yadav and Veteran Leader Madan Lal Saini were also in the run for the seats. As of now the tenure of Yadav and two Congress MPs namely Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Narendra Bhudania is going to end by April 3.

Talking about other states, 7 Union Ministers have been declared unopposed winners to the Rajya Sabha seats in states like Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Gujarat. These include ministers like Ravi Shankar Prasad, Prakash Javadekar, Dharmendra Pradhan, JP Nadda, etc. The stage is set for upcoming elections on 23rd March in 6 states- Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana.
