Air India Trolls IndiGo : Indigo Airlines recently received a lot of criticism after an assault video got viral showing the ground staff manhandling a passenger. The clip shows the crew restrained a man (named Rajiv Katiyal) from boarding the shuttle bus apparently using much more force than required. While people used #BoycottIndigo on twitter to express their anger, Air India chose to join the trolling bandwagon.

Air India Trolls IndiGo : Soon after the assault video surfaced, Air India took a jibe at IndiGo by posting sarcastic one-liners on the social media. First, the airline posted a picture of the mascot ‘Maharaja’ with folded hands and a tagline- “We raise our hands only to say Namaste.”

While people had a good time surfing the image, the airline surprised everyone with another trolling picture. This one being more sarcastic and featuring excellent use of wordplay read- “Unbeatable Service”. Interestingly, the letters “beat” were highlighted in blue which happens to be the official color of IndiGo.

Although both the images were later deleted, the internet is too fast to make anything viral. Netizens found it clever on the part of Air India to come up with such a quick take on the situation and appreciated the latter’s sense of humour.

Soon after this, even Jet Airways was dragged in the matter when a parody ad was posted with the tagline- “We beat our competitions, not you”. However, Jet Airways soon dismissed the reports saying that it was a fake picture and was “in fact, in bad taste.

On the other hand, IndiGo is having a tough time dealing with the rage and anger among the public. Apologizing for the whole situation, the airline stated that man involved in the matter has been terminated.

Although the airline has apologized and terminated the accused, the question is- would it help people to forget about the whole assaulting incident? Well surely the damage is done and people are now less willing to rely on IndiGo services for obvious reasons.
